I had the pleasure dining at Old Kardamili Traditional Restaurant, and I can't recommend it enough. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, with a charming, traditional atmosphere that adds to the whole experience. The food was fantastic, with plenty of vegetarian options to choose from. I was especially impressed by the vegetarian dishes, which were flavorful and well-prepared. Honestly, the vegetarian options outshone the carnivorous ones, making it a great spot for those looking for plant-based meals. Whether you're a vegetarian or not, you’ll find something that’ll satisfy your taste buds.

A fantastic traditional restaurant with local cuisine. The wooden oven just adds a culinary note to this place. The symphony closes with a fabulous view from the restaurant’s open terrace. It can be combined with a visit to Kardamyli’s historical tower.

The staff were super friendly and the food was excellent – enjoyed some tasty vegetable appetizers, the softest and most carefully flavoured meatballs I think I've ever eaten, and a hugely generous portion of chicken and potatoes with beautiful grill flavour. Now, let’s talk about the food. What sets this place apart is how it serves traditional Greek dishes in an elegant, refined way – giving the cuisine a gourmet touch without inflating the prices. They remain reasonable, especially for a tourist destination.
One thing to keep in mind: portion sizes. If you're used to the generous servings typically found in Greek tavernas, here the portions are more "normal." What may feel romantic and sophisticated for a couple or a group of friends might feel a bit modest for a larger family.

But the highlight of the meal was without doubt the spinach pie—crispy, rich, and simply outstanding, one of the best we’ve ever had.

Delicious, traditional Greek dishes cooked beautifully. We loved the food, the setting, the views, the atmosphere and the friendly, efficient service. Only five minutes walk from the main town square, we highly recommend this restaurant right next to the castle, which is also worth a visit while you're there. The bill, including wine, was just over €40 each but we added a 10% tip.

- At the gorge, there is a car park just off the main road with access up a track to the castle. Signposted to the castle/old town it's a 5 minute walk. Or drive up the track and there is also a car park at the castle, which is next to the restaurant. The paved path from the town's main square takes about 5 minutes walk.

This is a traditional Greek taverna with a great selection of food. Incredibly romantic but at the same time available for parties (there were 2 tables of 15 being served when we were there). The service is always good and the staff are very friendly and willing to advise on the local ingredients

The service was incredible; everyone was warm and welcoming, and we even had the pleasure of chatting with the chef, who generously offered us his signature milk pie dessert with strawberry compote and mixed fruits (which was divine).

An uncomplicated traditional and delicious Greek menu, friendly and attentive staff and all very reasonably priced and all with incredible views. We didn't need to book, but it got very busy after 21:00 so you may need a reservation.

Beautiful place and great food, in a garden with natural shade and view of old traditional houses, olive trees and the sea. The food gave you a homely feeling, like it was made by a grandma, very true to the roots and traditions of this area, with local ingredients. The tomato fritters and the galatopita (milk pie) were the highlights for me, and would totally recommend eating there.

EXCELLENT menu. Simple, fresh, authentic greek flavours. This is a hidden gem inside a small garden. The people working there made our evening with their discrete, genuine and warm service. This place is the essence of summer in Peloponnisos. Favourite dishes: fresh armyrikia salad, EXCELLENT mousakas, traditional slow cooked beef with perfectly cooked potatoes, local recipe of wild asparagus with fried eggs.
